Monoprinting is a printmaking technique for transferring a one-off image, pattern or design onto a flat surface such as paper or fabric. There are many different methods of making a monoprint but generally it is made by applying paint to a flat surface such as a sheet of plastic or a sheet of acrylic, drawing or stamping a design into the paint, then pressing the paper or fabric onto the painted surface to transfer the design.
